Teaching Boys & Other Children Who Would Rather Make Forts All Day DVD
Andrew Pudewa speaks about boys and how they learn. This seminar was just like being there.
What at GREAT DVD!! I am the mom to 3 boys and I sure wish I had seen this video about 10 years ago! The basic premise of this DVD was how boys learn differently than girls.
From how boys prefer cooler room temperature to how they tolerate pain to how boys really don’t hear at the same decibel level as the girls their same age.
Research shows that not only do boys and girls respond differently to similar environments, children in general like to do what they can do, and they hate to do what they think they cannot do. Citing several credible sources, Andrew Pudewa offers insight into specific ways you can create relevancy for children as you teach them academic as well as life skills
What did I learn?
- That Jesse may not be able to hear me….or any male in my house for that matter….simply because my voice is too soft.
- That Jesse may actually be able to learn his math better by standing up or walking around in circles instead of just sitting at his desk. He was most excited about my exercise ball….just to use that instead of a chair.
- That girls like the room warmer, about 6 degrees warmer, than boys. (so when Jesse needs to go outside for fresh air because Emily and I have the room at 80 degrees he really does need to)
Mr. Pudewa cites Why Gender Matters as a resource also. He doesn’t agree with the authors worldview, but states you WILL learn something from reading the book.
I recommend this $10 DVD to any parent of boys! Or even daughters that may not learn inside the box.
