Putting on the Armor of God
Below are a few scriptures about clothing. It’s not about how you look on the outside. It’s about your inside. Not about the latest styles or perfect jewelry. Dressing in the Armor of God will help you as you get dressed for your day.
Do you think about what you wear? Do you think about what might be exposed? Making a brother fall? Or do you dress intentionally covering yourself glorifying Him in the process.
Think about this….Would your future husband be okay with other guys looking at you with lustful eyes?
Colossians 3:12-14 (NIV)
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
1 Peter 3:3-4 (NIV)
3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Timothy 2:9-10 (NIV)
9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
Ladies…dress to glorify Him…not so that guy falls at what he can see.
Thanks for the article. Great scriptures!
