Cracked Pot
Isaiah 64:8
And now, O Lord, you are our father, and we are clay: and you are our maker, and we all are the works of your hands
If you knew me you may know that there was a time in my life that I was homeless for almost 2 yrs. Starting when my two older boys were 7 months old and 2 yrs old. I had chosen to move home. Which I blogged a bit about here. I had moved home for a few months. Due to space issues and not able to get help from any agency I had to move into a shelter. I was in a shelter for a fairly short time and then was accepted into the YWCA Family Village. A transitional housing unit in Redmond, WA. There was an 18 month limit and you had to either be in school or working to live there. I was able to go to school and have it paid for by private funding. The daycare was on site of the building so most convenient! That was paid for by the state.
The week before Christmas I had the honor of speaking at church. I say honor because I am a cracked pot and He can still use me. God still finds me useful even though I have messed up. A lot! I consider myself a cracked pot because first and foremost I am a sinner, as are we all. I also didn’t have a cookie cutter life. Pretty tame until I moved out at 18. This story is just one of many cracks in the pot that is my story. If He can use lil ‘ol ME and my cracks. However deep. To glorify Him! Then Holy Cow YES!
Here are some of the lyrics to one of my FAVORITE songs. Humbling. Convicting. I cry ev.er.y.time! I want Him to use me. I am honored for Him to use me. Me and all of my cracks!
Trusting Him in faith is another post altogether.
I give my life to my Potter’s hand
Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me
I give my life to the Potter’s hand
