The Best Enchilada Sauce Recipe Ever
This recipe is for the BEST enchilada sauce ever! For real!
It was so good. The leftovers the next day were even better. I think I will try this again in the crockpot and see if that makes a difference as well.
Best Enchilada Sauce Recipe
2 C. Chicken Broth
2T Olive Oil
2T Flour
1T Garlic Powder (or more if you like garlic)
1/2 t Salt 1 t Cumin (I used 1.5t because we really like cumin)
2T Chili Powder (We used hot chili powder)
Pièce de Résistance 3 drops of Lime Essential Oil
Instructions
Put Olive Oil in sauce pan over medium heat
Add spices until fragrant
Add Chicken Broth Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes
I buy my seasonings at a local mom and pop store. I am all about supporting small businesses.
Seasonings and olive oil, before I stirred. This is a red sauce. Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture of the acutal enchiladas because they were so yummy and disappeared quickly.
I thought, on a whim, lets add some Lime. I was going to add 2-3 drops, it was more like 5 or 6 but it only added to the flavor. SO GOOD!
I am going to make a HUGE batch of this sauce and can it for my food storage.
