Do you Ever Suffer from Normalcy Bias @MamaKautz

Glen Tate, author of the 299 Days seriesoften talked of people having normalcy bias. Kind of head in the sand, not really looking outside of their normal, day to day lives.

The normalcy bias, or normality bias, is a mental state people enter when facing a disaster. It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster and its possible effects Wiki

normalcy bias

I did a super quick Podcast about this topic. How I, myself, have had a case of normalcy bias. Wanting the world to just be normal. I know, define normal. I want to not have to think about the what if’s. Part of my problem, if you want to call it that, is my personality feels it. If I read too much or watch too many YouTube videos and I start to get anxious. I know we are not to worry. I know that I am saved by grace, and honestly, know if anything does happen that I am going to be ok. For my own mental state I need to not read every blog post or watch every YouTube video. I can see fear mongering in some of it and steer clear of those sites.

What do you do when you sense normalcy bias coming on? Power through or unplug?
