It is now February.
My LEAST favorite month of the year.
The holidays are long gone.
We are back into the routine of school.
Spring is nowhere to be seen and the snow, that was so beautiful at Christmas, is still here.
To add to it, The Principal is gone this week, and also the last week of the month.

Ever since we moved to Idaho, 10 years ago this month, February has this affect on me. Like clockwork.
Frankly, it sucks.
Was I this way in Seattle? I don’t recall. But, we didn’t have the drastic season changes that we have here.

So what am I going to do about Overcoming February Funk?

~ I BLAST Pandora. Specifically my station We Are Free
~ Fill my mind with scripture. I know when you in the depths it is hard. Believe me I GET IT! But He is there waiting….

“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up.” Proverbs 12:25

~ If the sun is out so am I. I don’t care how cold it is.

~ Not filling my body with junk food. Seriously. If my Grandma wouldn’t be able to tell what it is then I don’t eat it. (ahem Paleo)

“For it is you who light my lamp; the LORD my God lightens my darkness.” Psalm 18:28

~ Spending time with God.
Chatting with Him.
Telling Him what’s on my mind….
If I miss my mom (which comes in waves)
If I am feeling less than content.
After all He is Abba Father!

Most importantly is not letting the enemy win this spiritual warfare at it’s highest.

Do you suffer from February Funk? What do you do to get ‘over it?’
