Saving Money in your Household Budget by Using Essential Oils

When trying to convince sharing oils with people one of the biggest roadblocks for NOT trying them is cost.
Quality oils are an investment. It does take some time to build up your supply.
Can I tell you where I am saving money, now, as a result of using doTERRA?
My household budget.
Now you are asking how can you save money when you are spending it on essential oils.
Well, let me tell you.

I no longer buy
Lysol®
Febreeze®
Wood Cleaner
Windex®
Toothpaste (Ok I still buy toothpaste, but I buy my favorite brand and get points to use for free oils)
Shampoo
Conditioner
Deodorant
Hand Soap (Again, I buy the protective blend foaming soap and get points towards more product)
Sunscreen
Shaving Cream

I have replaced these items with oils. Yes, there are a few items I needed to purchase to make my own products, but the cost isn’t that much and bonus; I reduced my toxic load at the same time.

Let’s do a price comparison.
For the sake of time I will use Amazon prices vs doTERRA Wholesale price.
Remember, also, I get points to use for free product.

Lysol® = $9.20
Protective blend Concentrate $14.50 = .52 per TBSP. I use 2 TBSP per spray bottle or $1.04 per bottle. This is what I use to clean my counters in my bathroom and kitchen.

Febreeze® $4.18 (9.7oz)
Cleansing blend $18 or .07 per drop I use purify in a spray bottle 10 drops added to water. So .70 for an 8oz bottle of air freshener. I can also spray the dogs with this because it is nontoxic.

Windex 32 oz $3.69

A recipe with household ingredients.
1/4 -1/2 tsp Liquid Castille Soap
3 tbsp Vinegar
2 cups Water
10 drops Essential Oil of Choice-
Peppermint $20.50 or .08 per drop
Lemon $10 or .04 per drop
Wild Orange $10 or .04

Murphy’s Oil Soap 32oz $7.99
Again, here is a recipe with household ingredients I already have on hand.
1/4 cup White Vinegar
1/4 cup Water
1/2 tsp Liquid Castille Soap
1/8 tsp Olive Oil
10 drops Orange $10.50 or .04 per drop or.40

As you can see the prices really are affordable. I want to stress the added benefit of non toxic. Your kids can safely use these cleaners and not worry about fumes or getting it on their skin.
