Are you looking for an online curriculum for your Middle or High school aged child?
Do you want online without the red tape and public school commitment?
Are you wanting something that keeps track of assignments for you?

Standard Deviants may be just what you are looking for!

I will say, up front, SDAccelerate is a secular, common core curriculum.
I know many of my readers are Christian, so I wanted you to know before continuing.

I have, in the past watched Standard Deviants videos in the past. In the past I had 2 high schoolers a middle schooler, and an elementary student. Back in the day I wasn’t comfortable having my kids watch SD because the videos were on the cheesy, borderline innappropriate-for-little-peoples-ears side.
Now I have a Sophomore and a Senior and who can spot cheesy from a mile away.

SDAccelerate delivers cheesy. Not in a bad way, but in a way that the kids will remember and retain what they watched. When watching the video for the chosen assignment the student can also read along with it. I feel this is a great addition as it helps address each students learning style. Auditory or Visual.

The sign up process was simple. If you get stuck, there is a YouTube video that will walk you through the process.

After you enter your information you add your student’s information and an e-mail is then sent, with the course code, so your child then accepts the invite and enrolls on their own. You don’t have to do it for them.
I personally liked this and felt it gave ownership to my child.
Again, a YouTube video to help you.

After your child is all enrolled they can immediately start watching the assignment videos and completing assignments.
You sign in on the parent end to monitor their progress.
Again, the work is done for you.
As an 8th year homeschool mom I enjoy that Standard Deviants Accelerate is self guided. This isn’t a complete curriculum, it is supplemental, but it is still a nice feature.

Please note: SDA is a condensed, supplemental course.
SDA can be used as a supplement to whatever material you already use.
For example, the videos and quizzes can be used for a fresh angle on a challenging topic or as a review before standardized testing.
All the important areas of a subject are condensed into concise lessons that cut out the busy work and get right to the point. Or use SDA as a curriculum spine by adding on extra reading assignments, practice exercises, and projects to accompany our outline of the content. source

Although it is supplemental in nature, SDA will teach and re-teach, allowing your student to learn, progress, and then master a subject.
