5 More Things I would Miss if the SHTF
Awhile ago I wrote about 5 Things I’ll Miss if the SHTF. I noticed I said I’ll instead of I’d, but then said If instead of When. I wonder now if I was thinking SHTF was imminent? I do more so today, than I did then.
Not sure if I can even pinpoint why or what makes me have this feeling that the world as we know it today won’t always be.
What are 5 more things I’ll miss?
Saturday Afternoon Dates
One of my favorite things is a Saturday afternoon date. I love walking around downtown Coeur d’ Alene looking at the shops. Walking the boardwalk. Grabbing a coffee at the cute little shop on Sherman Ave. I have actually met our oldest son for coffee in the middle of the week. We sit and people watch. Simple life, but something to be missed if the world ever changes.
Road Trips
Our family loves road trips. It is our chosen way to travel. I like to fly, but it’s expensive when there are more than 2 people. Plus you don’t get to see as much of the country. We are heading to MN next week and plan on driving home via highway 2 to see parts of ND and MT that we haven’t seen before.
The Grocery Store
The convenience of going grocery shopping. If the world or country does go south grocery stores will be one of the first things to go. There won’t be trucks to bring food and whatnot to restock those shelves. It’s why we should grow a garden and preserve the bounty to get us through the winters. Why we should have animals to provide milk and meat.
Air Conditioning
This summer has been hotter than any I can remember. We are blessed to have a large AC unit in the front room. It will be missed if ever there is a time that we have to go without power.
Peaceful Living
We are on 5 rural acres. I would like to think if people are getting out of the city they would go South and not up here where it snows. That said, the peaceful living would be over. We would have to always be on the defense. I don’t know. Maybe I have read too many TEOTWAKI books.
Now I realize these are all pretty superficial things. I clearly wouldn’t die without any of them. Unlike the first list where I list ice and running water. We will have access to water, as long as it’s clean we would be okay. What are somethings you would miss the most?
